Occupation: Chaser for Montrose Magpies Residence: Lossiemouth, Scotland Financial status: upper middle class/wealthy Political views: Conservative Integrationist. He believes that the worlds could merge, but feels it should be done more as a grassroots movement than a political one. Sexuality: Straight General Apperance: Roger is well built overall with exceptionally toned arms and shoulders due to Quidditch. He has a nearly Mediterranean look with dark brown hair, brown eyes and olive skin. Roger may look mature for his age, however he is always ready with a smile which causes his appearance to be more youthful. The smile itself is somewhat crooked, sliding further up on the left. General Personality: Roger is an extrovert, preferring study groups and team practices to solo endeavours. However, his idea of a study group can occasionally end up in spirited debates. However, his ready charm dissipates most potential ill feelings. Still, when pressed, his overwhelming confidence in his own intelligence can lead him to very loud, heated arguments. His idea of watching his tongue is satire, or proper silence. He doesn't consider himself brave, but neither does he consider his own neck the first worth saving. If he can use satire and wit to make a point, he will. If he feels he cannot succeed in his point(note, this is by his estimation, not necessarily the reality of the situation), then he will attempt to avoid commenting at all. This does mean that occasionally his mouth gets the best of him and he's required to prove himself. He believes arrogance should be earned, and has no delusion about his own arrogance when it comes to Quidditch and intelligence. He does not believe that purebloods are better than anyone else, in fact, he believes those who can straddle both worlds are better than those who limit themselves to one by virtue of their mental flexibility. He considers it a badge of honour that he can pass as Muggle if necessary. Quidditch fascinates him, and he discovered his talent for it early on. Playing professional Quidditch has been a secret hope since he first saw a match and tries to learn as much as possible on the subject. However, he's always up for learning on any topic. To relax, Roger tends to swim in the North Sea and has considered learning the Muggle sport of surfing. When asked why he would swim in such cold water, he smirks and laughs, asking why not. He views it as a testament to proper machismo (in what he sees as its purest form). History After graduation, Roger was recruited by Pride of Portree, however, his career was short-lived when he took a leave of absence citing family circumstances. The truth was not far off, as he chose to temporarily leave the Magical world, living as a Muggle with his parents in Inverness when the attacks and random arrests of wizards who could not prove pureblood relatives became too frequent for his or his family's safety. He took a job working in a bookstore owned by his father's long-time friend. During this time, he taught his sister the theory behind magic and helped her memorize spells despite the Trace on her. Once the war was over, he attended the open trials held by the Montrose Magpies and made the team as a Chaser. Roger has had a string of girlfriends, both Magical and Muggle, though none as infamous as Fleur Delacour in his sixth year. Plotting Ideas How does your character feel about the post-war world? (The Wizarding Community becoming more open to muggles, captured Death Eaters receiving the kiss, or being stripped of their wealth and property for lesser offences): Roger is quite content with the post-war world. He thinks the Kiss is harsh, but obviously those people don't understand subtle, so drastic measures need to be taken to prevent further problems. Recently, he's been disturbed by the violence the Separatists are creating. He thinks it immature, but he knows better than to pretend it doesn't happen. He just thinks there are multiple ways to combat the terrorism. | |||||||||
